Hello future writers,
Are you stuck in the middle of writing? Do you have days where you can’t even write one word?
It’s alright. I had these kinds of moments too. The great writer’s block. People can overcome it. I did it.
After writing my basic outline, NaNoWriMo the July Camp, came around and I wrote for four hours daily because I couldn’t find the right words.
After two days, I told myself that I had to find a better and quicker way to write, while trying to overcome the block. I looked over my outline and noticed that I had an instant inspiration. And so, I started immediately writing.
So, what is the hack to the writer’s block? Simple you take the "scene" from the outline and write it on a new paper (depends if you handwrite or type) and add a few details and then you can write. If you get stuck, you look at the summary and think it over.
If you are like me and get stuck at the right words, just forget it for now. Write the first ones that come to mind, forget about the right words or grammar. That way you won’t get stuck and write as much as you can and won’t be stuck writing for long hours.
And, if you have the type of writer’s blog that you don’t know what will happen next, ask yourself questions like:
- What needs to happen next?
- What is the worst that could happen?
- What could go wrong?
- Try writing the summary of the scene or chapter in bullet points.
You will write quicker and your word count will skyrocket. The only negative is that the editing will be harder.
Here are some inspiring quote and further advise for dealing with writer’s block:

Right on the dot! I've been struggling with picking up a pen and jotting things down because I knew it would sound like rubbish. As you said, it's okay that it'll sound like rubbish, you can fix it afterward!
Excellent advice
